Alas, my heart, what have you done?
—your lips
denied the light of Truth,
your face today
despised the sun;
now darkness clouds above your roof

Alas, my
heart, what have you done?
—in fear you
have betrayed your love,
your words have
brought the stars to stun;
today you sold your priceless trove

Alas, my
heart, what have you done?
—a mute
lament has crossed your life,
your fault
has grown and weighs a ton;
your tears
are now a sharpless knife

Alas, my
heart, what have you done?
—you’ve reached
a void of loss and shame,
deceive the
mind your pain to shun;
for from now
on you’ll lose your flame

Alas, my
heart, what have you done?
—you’ve set
your fate towards demise,
your vows were
lost as weakness won;
now all that’s
left is fruitless cries

Alas, my heart,
what have you done?
—you’ve put
your trust in fragile men,
sought hope
in them that give to none;
and time has
split to now and then
